Baden Powell Spout

The Murray River at Nanga crosses over an ancient pegmatite rock bar forming what is known locally as the "Baden Powell Spout." Over the millenia the rock has been eroded pot holes into the hard rock creating a labyrinth of swirling waters. The water is a milky green as it flows throught the spout. I love the colour in this image.

Sentinels in the Pinnacles Desert

A weak shaft of light peeped through the clouds on a very overcast and dull day. The effect of the sunlight was awesome as it lit up the yellow sand in a blaze of colour.

Desert Glow

My first visit to "The Pinnacles" yesterday in the Nambung National Park was a real surprise. A dull, hot, cloudy and humid day didn't bode well for any stunning photography and my visit was just so that I could tick it off on my bucket list. Upon entering the Park, within seconds I was blown away at the colour and mystical nature of the whole environment. Every few minutes a shaft of bright sunlight would burst through the clouds and light up some part of the alien landscape. The reflected glow created an amazing light with just a hint of shadows and my camera was clicking frantically. Now I know why aside from Wave Rock, the Pinnacles is the second most popular International tourist destination for day trips out of Perth.

Bunker Bay Umbrellas

I love these trees at Bunker Bay, and have tried on several occasions to photograph them in a "non snapshot" type of image. Despite trying many angles to caprure the "umbrellaness" of them, this one I think is getting better.
