Normally viewed from below as one enters the chasm an aerial view provides a different and very interesting contrast.
This isolated Boab stood high and proud on the flats on the Western side of the Penetcost River on Home Valley Station. After 6 hours on the Carson River Track with a film crew in some of the most rugged 4WD country one could image in Australia we were on the "home run" and looking forward to a cold beer. The Cockburn Ranges on the horizon were such a dramatic backdrop and I only had a few minutes to frame this shot as the 2 other support vehicles already were well ahead. Wild horses were galloping into the distance off to the right of this image, and after over 7 hours of taking images I was pretty well photographed out, however I couldn't miss this one. I think think this image encapulated this part of the Kimberley perfectly.
